of Individual Membership
The Plastics
& Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka (PRISL) offers a comprehensive structure
for individual memberships, catering to different levels of expertise and
experience. The following are the main categories
A member within this grade shall call himself as a “Student Member” of the Institute. Be undertaking an approved course of study in polymer science and / or plastics or rubber technology, conducted by the Plastics and rubber Institute of Sri Lanka. These members cannot vote on any matter of the Institute.
This grade does not carry the right to use designatory letters. .
A member within this grade shall be known as an “Affiliate Member” and shall have the right to call himself an Affiliate Member of the Institute. An application for election to affiliate membership is required to specify the interest in the said field and to agree in writing to abide by the regulations of the Institute.
These members can vote on any matter of the Institute.
This grade does not have the right to use any designatory letters.
Diploma Those within this grade shall be known as ‘Diplomates’ shall have the right to refer to themselves as ‘Diplomates’ of the Institute. An applicant for diploma membership shall, at the time of application, belonging to the Institute for a period of not less than one year either , has passed the diploma examination of the Institute, or has been exempted from the examination, based on passing the examination of an Institute approved Technicians' course deemed to be of equivalent academic standard to the Institute's diploma examination.
These members can vote on any matter of the Institute.
This grade has the right to use designatory letters ‘DPRI’.
Member within this grade shall call himself a ‘Graduate’ of the Institute. An applicant for transfer to this upgrade shall at the time of his application, (a) belonging to the Institute for a period of not less than one year. (b) either - has satisfied the minimum entry requirements for and has passed, the Institute's graduateship examination, or has obtained a first or second class honours degree or higher degree by study having special reference to polymer , which has been approved for the purpose of Grad PRI exemption, by the Institute.
These members can vote on any matter of the Institute.
This grade has the right to use designatory letters ‘Grad PRI’.
Those within this grade shall be known as ‘Associate Members’, shall have the right to refer to themselves as ‘Associate Members’ of the Institute.
There are two (2) routes which provides for the transfer to the grade of associate member.
These members can vote on any matter of the Institute.
This grade has the right to use designatory letters ‘AMPRI’.
Those within this grade shall be known as "Members" and, refer themselves as“Member” of the Institute..
There are two (2) routes which provides for the transfer to the grade of associate member.
These members can vote on any matter of the Institute.
This grade has the right to use designatory letters ‘MPRI’.
Members within this grade shall call themselves as ‘Fellows’ of the Plastics and Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka..
There are two (2) routes which provides for the transfer to the grade of Fellow member.
These members can vote on any matter of the Institute.
This grade has the right to use designatory letters ‘MPRI’.
