About Us
The Plastics and Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka
Welcome to PRISL, the Plastics & Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka, established in 1960 as a local branch of London's Institute of the Rubber Industry. Over six decades, PRISL has been instrumental in advancing Sri Lanka's polymer industry. Our diverse membership, representing technical, supervisory, and management levels in rubber and plastics, fosters networking and professional development. We provide technical meetings, seminars, and site visits for knowledge exchange.
Our Core Mission centers on continuous professional development, recognized by the government since 1995 through the 'Tertiary Vocational Education Commission.' , addressing the growing demand for polymer education, driven by the expanding rubber product manufacturing and export industry. PRISL prioritizes delivering relevant educational courses and elevating industry standards by exposing local practitioners to international best practices through study tours and workshops.
OUR COURSES
PRISL considers different aspects of the National and Industry needs and conducts Education and Training Programmes to fulfil these needs. These programmes are mainly aimed at developing the knowledge and skills of those who are employed at different levels of the industry and associated services. In addition, there are some programmes for the school leavers and unemployed youth as well.
